XO D24

The Connoisseur’s Classic: D24 XO (苏丹王)
Often referred to as the "Vintage" of the durian world, the XO is a specialized selection of the D24 variety. It earned its name from its distinct, fermented profile—reminiscent of fine XO brandy. Our harvest is sourced from mature orchards in Pahang and Kelantan, where the fruit is allowed to over-ripen slightly on the tree to develop its signature punch.
Flavor Profile
-
Texture: Soft, thick, and slightly "watery" (in a premium, silky way). It is less fibrous than standard D24, offering a very smooth mouthfeel.
-
Taste: A deep, intense bitterness that hits the back of the throat, followed by a unique "alcoholic" sting. It is significantly less sweet than Musang King.
-
Aroma: Sharp, pungent, and heavy. The scent is the first indicator of its powerful, fermented soul.
The Durian Lah Quality
-
Extended Maturation: We only label D24 as "XO" when it has achieved that specific level of natural fermentation that creates the boozy aftertaste.
-
Cold-Chain Fresh: Because XO has a softer texture, we use rapid air-freight to ensure it doesn't become too mushy before it reaches Melbourne.
-
Authenticity: Sourced from old trees (30+ years) to ensure the bitterness is deep and persistent, not just surface-level.

Storage & Serving Tip
D24 XO is best served chilled. The cold temperature enhances the "alcoholic" sensation and keeps the soft flesh firm. If you find the flavor too intense, pair it with a glass of salt water (a traditional Malaysian palate cleanser) to balance the heat.
